On Transgenders in MissU...

“In my humble opinion, transgenders should not be allowed to join the MissU because it's only for REAL women.” –Miriam Quiambao

Bakit nga ba? Kung tutuusin, tama naman si Ms. Miriam. Miss Universe was made to celebrate the real essence of womanhood.

Well, IDC. Isa kasing malaking kalokohan ‘tong issue na ‘to para sa’kin. Transgender sa MissU? Isn’t that so much? Not that I’m against third sex. You know, I have good friends who belong to their growing populace. And they’re really good people. But I do think, giving them the chance to be in that pageant is just way too much.

Imagine kung anong magiging feeling ng madlang kabaklaan kung may tunay na chiks na sumali sa gay pageant with proud breasts not augmented, a perfect 36-24-36 vital statistics and a real female sex organ? Insultado di ba? Baka nga magkasabunutan pa once they find out about this. Pero because we are very fond of human rights at napakatindi ng takot natin sa Commission on Human Rights at kung saan saan pang samahan kuno na may parehong pinaglalaban, we’re giving them equal rights which I think they do deserve dahil tao din naman sila. Hindi alien, katulad ng iniisip ng iba.

But the thing is, Miss Universe has first laid its standards before these surgeries made it possible for a man to at least look like a woman (sometimes even better, though). But this doesn’t change a thing. Miss Universe is for REAL MISS Universe as well as Miss Gay will sure stay for REAL Miss GAY.

Madami na namang magtataas ng kilay dito dahil sabi ko nga, discriminatory ‘tong blog entry ko pero for as long as I remember at ito lang talaga ‘yung tanda ko sa Christian Living class ko way back elementary (Sorry, baklang friends <3) God made only man and woman. Nothing in between. Kumbaga, black o white lang. Walang green este gray. But you could apply scientific explanations kung bakit sila naging green, dahil mas madaming female hormones kesa male o mas maraming male hormones kesa female. Oh, whatever. I never loved Biology. Sa huli, this will all boil down to one thing, believe what you want to believe in and stand for it. It is true that we all have equal rights in the law but you can never find equity in a world where people are long blinded by earthly beauties and madness. After all, these pageants do not actually tell you what beauty is. They just made you believe beauty could really be measured by this.
